Finance Manager (Retail Supermarket Business)

To analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures and to monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance. To be the custodian of financial/operating controls within the Company. To ensure adequate segregation of duties between departments. To coordinate, supervise and follow-up all financial, accounting and budgeting activities of the company and ensure that financial and management controls are exercised over the operation and capital expenditures.
• Financial and accounting operations e.g. credits, expenditures, account collection, sales, purchasing etc…
• Financial advice on the overall corporate financial position.
• Explain & comments results and support effective strategic decision making for the company as a whole
• Manage the company’s accounting and financial control functions and teams.
• Ensure the accuracy and timely preparation of monthly results, forecasts, yearly budget, 5-year plan and financial statements,
• Ensure full compliance with administrative, tax obligation and statutory books
• Analyze expenses in terms of actual outcome: contractual cost, benchmark, productivity, etc.
• Ensure proper treasury management including company funding, utilization of cash, banking relationship, etc.
• Effectively plan cash flow needs
• Identify risks and opportunities

• Min 5yrs in similar position
• Confirmed (certified) accountant
• Portuguese native speaker
• English fluent speaker
• Bachelor´s degree in: Economics, Accounting, Administration, Management, Finance
• Experience in Retail, in particular store and merchandise management
• Solid experience in ERP and POS systems
• Knowledge of MS Office, particularly modeling in Excel
• Good work organization and team management
• Good analytical thinking
• Strong in controls and compliance
• Initiative taker
