The Finance Advisor will play a critical role in establishing / supporting the financial processes of the Luanda office and the financial management of joint venture (JV) assets. This position offers the potential to grow and evolve into broader Senior Finance role as the company grows it’s Angola asset base, with the potential for exposure across a range of both Finance, Commercial and Fiscal activity. The successful candidate will initially be responsible for setting up and managing local office accounting controls and processes, cash management and forecasting, and building relationships with local banks and external partners, and finance stakeholders. In addition, this role will require the ability to establish close and productive working relationships with the Country Manager, as well as senior Finance and Commercial staff based in the company’s London HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
• Joint Venture (JV) Financial Management: Support the financial control of existing JV assets (Non Op) , and the set-up and operation of all finance, commercial and fiscal processes and operations required for the company to fulfil its contractual requirements as an Operator.
• Accounting Controls and Cash Management: Establish and document local office accounting controls. Manage and report cash flows into the London based Treasury team and maintain strong relationships with local banks to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Hydrocarbon Accounting: Set up and manage hydrocarbon accounting processes for operated blocks. Liaise with the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas, and Biofuels (ANPG) to ensure alignment on cost recovery statements and reporting. (SIOP)
• Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Manage the relationship with PwC for tax, payroll, and Angolan GAAP reporting. Ensure all financial practices comply with local regulations and reporting deadlines
• SunSystems Implementation: Lead the local setup and operation of SunSystems, with training provided as necessary.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with staff based in the London HQ across Technical, Legal, Procurement and other departments to support all impacted finance and commercial activities, ensuring financial alignment and support to business objectives.
Requisitos
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; ACMA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
• 10 years + experience in finance roles within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of hydrocarbon accounting, SIOP, JV accounting, and local regulatory compliance
• Proficiency in financial management systems, particularly SunSystems (desirable)
