Chief Accountant

Monthly:
Closing and sign-off of the monthly trial balance in the Accounting System within agreed deadlines;
Identification and booking of appropriate month end close entries – such as provisions;
Populating the monthly IFRS reporting packages and additional reporting schedules on a quarterly basis;
Intercompany Account reconciliations;
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations (Implementing, preparing, reviewing) and ensuring necessary corrective actions are taken to clear discrepancies (if any);
Monitoring and reporting of the Debtors / Creditors Ageing balance with detailed comments;
Preparation of the monthly income tax calculation;
Ongoing / Daily:
Ensuring that the ‘Trade-To-Cash’ process is adhered to (Company standard operating procedures framework);
Day-day management of the accounting team;
Day-day monitoring / reviewing of the transactions posted in the accounting system (Front systems monitoring);
Settling of open ledger and sub-ledger entries in the Accounting System;
Ad-hoc / Annual:
Preparation of the income tax return filings as required by Local Tax/Fiscal authorities;
Liaising with the tax advisors and ensuring that Tax Returns are filed on time;
Assist with the External Audit.

Finance/Accounting/Business Degree;
Over 5 years of experience or 3 years at a similar level;
Experience in general finance & accounting Finance Processes and systems;
Fluent in Portuguese and business English;
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles;
Strong data entry and process skills;
Strong analytical, organizational and accounting skills;
Advanced experience in word and excel;
Quick and easy understanding of global systems;
High skills in written and verbal communication;
High skills in archive storage and organization;
Ability to analyze variations/deviations;
Work efficiency and independency on problem solving;
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow deadlines;
Detail oriented;
Interpersonal skills.
