An international company with more than 128 offices around the Globe, is currently offering full-time positions based in Viana Angola:
To generate profitable sales by development of new and existing clients within Angola, commensurate with the provision of a high quality of service to all customers. To generate additional opportunities and sales with the company’s divisions.
Key Personal Activities and Responsibilities
To monitor the activity of customer services to ensure full and complete details are taken on initial client enquiry and to ensure accurate and well-presented proposals are produced.
To actively canvass ‘up’ and ‘down’ the relocation chain.
To maintain / update company database.
To carry out sales appointments at agreed times with customers, accurately quantify move both in terms of consignment volume and timescale, noting specific client requirements.
To accurately cost and price all quotations and proposals in order to maximize conversions and profits.
To ensure all required information is entered into company systems in a timely basis.
To ensure prompt and accurate preparation of sales proposals, making use of all available proposal documentation, to include personalized proposal sections and sales letter, together with appropriate sales literature.
To produce accurate resource and activity schedules, covering both resources and crates.
To maintain an effective and efficient follow up system, ensuring all proposals / quotations are followed up in a timely manner. Follow ups to continue until client decision is made.
To maintain contact with and a profile of major competitors monitoring pricing policy and performance.
To arrange and attend pre-move planning meetings with clients. Ensure all relevant information is collated and actioned as appropriate.
To liaise closely with operations when booking jobs, to ensure all relevant activities and timescales are booked and understood.
To arrange and chair internal pre-move planning meetings with operations and job foreman, where appropriate.
To participate in promotional activities.
To carry out risk assessments prior to commencement of each secured job. Risk assessments to be held on client file. Report to operations as appropriate.
To be actively involved in local business community, promote Company services at every possible opportunity.
To check and authorize external supplier invoices, in relation to completed projects.
To identify potential opportunities for relocations within the territory (eg new buildings, local news stories) and follow up to secure meetings/appointments/presentations/quoting opportunities.
To actively prospect for new business. Maintain active communication until a result is achieved.
To take a key role in assisting to resolve identified client difficulties.
Ensure a high level of client satisfaction is maintained and that our service meets client expectations.
Review individual and geographic sales performance with a General Manager and Deputy Manager. Be involved in recommending initiatives to maintain and improve securing rates.
Contribute to regular communications between Sales and Operations, to ensure the ongoing co-operation between the two parties is maintained at a high level, with the aim of achieving project completion with minimum cost and complete client satisfaction.
Actively participate and arrange key client entertainment, in line with limits of authority.
Use every opportunity to increase business with existing clients, with particular emphasis on cross fertilization of other service and group divisions. In this respect, be the catalyst for communication of opportunity.
Be involved with the bids & tenders team in preparation of presentations, pre-quals and tenders to potential clients where a bid team has been decided upon to maximize our potential strength.
Ensure billing department receives timely and accurate invoicing information as soon as possible on completion of a project/move or at the appropriate stage payment date.
To carry out post move client de-briefs. Compile report and forward to Commercial Manager.
Proactively participate in achieving divisional objectives.
Requisitos
As a Business Developer, you will be expected to hold a business based degree level or you must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in Business Development.
You may be required to have previously worked in the logistics industry; however, if you are able to demonstrate excellent business development skills and a basic understanding of our industry, this may be sufficient.
As a Business Developer, it is important that you have excellent interpersonal skills and are able to network and present ideas and suggestions, which have been well thought through and can be easily understood.
You must have a good understanding of basic business finance and be able to interpret and prepare business calculations.
As a Business Developer you must have strong analytical skills and be able to problem solve.
Confidence is essential for the Business Developer and the ability to cold call potential clients.
You will be familiar with industry standard software such as Microsoft Office etc.
An excellent level of written and spoken English and Portuguese is absolutely required
