Project Manager

To lead the implementation of the African Development Bank (AfDB) funded "Cabinda Province Agriculture Value Chains Development Project" and be fully responsible for its day-to-day management in such a manner as to ensure efficient and timely implementation of all project activities in accordance with the overall project implementation schedule for the four-year period and duly approve and/or revised Annual Work Plans and Budgets and Procurement Plans, in compliancy with the relevant Loan Agreement as well as AfDB Rules and Procedures.

Duration of the Assignment: 3 years

• Minimum Academic/Professional Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent, in Economics, Agriculture, Rural Development, or a related science, together with postgraduate qualification or proven specialized training in Project Management.

• Minimum Experience

At least 10 years’ experience in the co-ordination of donor-funded (preferably multilateral) projects/programs with proven leadership and team building and effective communication qualities; Experience with community-based and/or smallholder-oriented development initiatives is desirable.

• Key Skills and Knowledge

Proficiency in English and Portuguese languages with excellent communication skills

Thorough knowledge of Government and private sector institutional and organizational structures and operations in general. Experience in the sub-region and Angola is an added advantage

Working knowledge of the operational modalities for national and international NGOs is desirable
